Best in Advertising on Twitter: Pinkerton South Wins the 2010 Shorty Award in NYC
Hollywood has its Oscars, and Broadway its Tonys. And now the Shorty Awards honor Twitter’s best of the best. Frank Adman, Pinkerton South’s 1960s-retro ad man, took this year’s top honors in Advertising.
On March 3, Shorty Award winners were announced at TheTImesCenter in New York City. Hosted by CNN anchor Rick Sanchez, awards were given in 26 official categories to winners from around the world. Like everything else on Twitter, acceptance speeches were limited to 140 characters.
Pinkerton South partner David Benardo accepted the Shorty Award for best in Advertising on behalf of his time-warped “Frank Adman” character known as @FrankAdman on Twitter. With 20,000+ followers, Frank is a west coast-based Madison Avenue type living large in the early 60s. Known as the inventor of the “Twittertini,” his comments and conversations cover advertising, cocktails, jazz, and snappy thinking.
