Twitter at the Beach? Not quite.
Don’t think it’s here yet. Myrtle Beach social media experts please prove me wrong. If the Market Commons First Birthday Bash is any indication of the twitter temp here, twitter is still a featherless little chick. waiting for mom’s waffle fries.
The event was a big success with thousands in attendance but search with Summize (the twitter search tool) and you’ll see only a few “tweets” before, during, and after the event. Same with Flickr. (and same with the Pelican’s game last night)
The event was certainly twitter-worthy—many balloon animals were made, new foods consumed, and friend pics with beers in-hand—lots to tweet about for sure.
Don’t get me wrong, twitter can be a killer app for businesses that have “real” people tweeting interesting stuff - but I’ve only found a few here that seem to be doing it right. Again, is there anyone out there, a real person at a business or organization at the beach, someone who’s making the most of twitter? Tell me about them.
